Celebrating FATHER at Rivian San Francisco

Connecting inspiring dads—online and in real life—is one of the chief goals of FATHER. So we decided to get started right away by hosting a launch party in San Francisco on the evening of the site’s debut.

We gathered an intentionally intimate group of fathers from a wide range of disciplines (artists, writers, florists, doctors, wood workers, architects, lawyers, tech folks, etc.) at Rivian in Hayes Valley for a community-building happy hour and test-drives of the much drooled-over R2.

While enjoying bites from Goop Kitchen (makers of our favorite tomato pizza and gluten-free brownie), the fathers in attendance connected over the various stages of parenting and their current inspirations—which ranged from Dolly Parton’s epic legacy to mastering braiding their daughter’s hair to embracing the simple things in life.

Everyone went home with goodies from Rivian, a brand-new FATHER baseball cap, and some reading and reflecting material for themselves and their kids—thanks to Christian Robinson’s sweet Dad picture book and the beloved One Line A Day 5-year journal from Chronicle Books.

We’re thrilled to say this is just the first of many dad meetups in the Bay Area and other cities across the U.S. If you’d like to get “in”—or know a dad who’d love to be invited—be sure to sign up for FATHER IRL.
